Welcome to my website.

My name's Xavi Fradera. I've been working since 1991 in the videogames world. I started as a Graphic Artist, making graphics for many videogames: I've designed, modelled and mapped backgrounds, vehicles and characters for them. I've done some animations too, and, finally, I've done Art Direction tasks.
Later,I've worked as a Game Designer, having responsabilities on the Art Quality and Playability, being in charge to acomplish the milestones for the entire project, and managing a 15 people team (artists and programmers).Nowadays, I'm working as a Producer at Gammick Entertainment S.L..

I have a good command on 3dsmax and its different Render Engines (Mental Ray, Vray, Final Render), Photoshop, Image Ready, AutoCad, Autodesk Architectural Desktop. I have also a good command on Real Flow, Dreamweaver and Microsoft Office (Word,Excel, Project...).

AS A PRODUCER

September 2007- (Actual Job): Producer for Gammick Entertainment S.L. Producing and managing external development studios that make videogames for Gammick Entertainment, creating and writing new ideas, controling the entire creation process, managing outsourcing for our developers, controling deadlines and milestones of the entire project and assuring the quantity of all contents, the quality and the budget.

2006- (Actual Job): Teacher at the Master "Diseño y creación de videojuegos" (Design and creation of Videogames) at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, teaching game design and texture creation for videogames.

October 2004- March 2005: Game Designer at Gameloft. Designing 4 different thematic games for mobile: driving, strategic and mini-golf games. Gameloft is an international company which develops games for mobiles.

October 1991- October 2004: Graphic Artist, Art Director and Game Designer at Gaelco S.A. Gaelco S.A. is an important company that creates, realises and produces coin-op arcade games.

AS A GAME DESIGNER

2004. "INMERSION": COIN SLOT MACHINE GAME

Gigames, a Spanish coin slot machine company, gave me a script of a gamble game. I rewrote everything and I gave a story, a environment and Second World War submarines ambient to the game. Moreover, I added some new sub-games from my own creation.

2004- "QUIZ": CROSSWORD MOBILE GAME

I had the idea of doing a Crosswords game by using the name of the branded Spanish magazine. I developed the entire idea, I designed all the interface and I also did the graphics.

2004- GAME "RING RIDERS"

I've been working on this project for two years. The game is about a bike competition in which you have to get the high score to win. To get points you have to go through coloured rings sited on the way and make some acrobatics on jumps. In this game I wrote the entire script, designed the stages and adjusted driving style and playability. I haven't been the art director, but the final art work were under my responsibility. I've been in charge of a 15 member team (graphics artists and programmers) controlling all the timings and completing milestones in the project.

2002- GAME "ATV TRACK: QUADS ON AMAZONE"

During two years I worked on the development of an ATV sport game that rides through the Amazone. First, I started with an idea of mine and then I wrote the script of the game, designed all the stages, the gags that happen on the stages, and adjusted driving style and playability. I haven't been the art director, but the final art work were under my responsibility.

AS AN ART DIRECTOR

1999- GAME "SMASHING DRIVE".

I created together with de game designer, the New York's look in this game. I made the decoration of some circuits too: 3d modelling, texture mapping and 2d artist.

AS A 3D ARTIST

1998- GAME "ROLLING EXTREME (STREET LUDGE)".

In this sport game I made the decoration of some circuits: 3d modelling, texture mapping and 2d artist.

1997- GAME "RADIKAL BIKERS".

I created all circuits. I made the decoration of some circuits too: 3d modelling, texture mapping and 2d artist.

1996- GAME "SPEED UP".

I worked creating the cars an some circuits. 3d modelling, texture mapping and 2d artist.

AS A 2D ARTIST

1995- GAME "TOUCH AND GO (BEACH VOLEY)". I created all the backgrounds and its landscape animation.

1993- GAME "ALLIGATOR HUNT". I made the design and animation of some enemies, like the main alien alligator and some alien spaceships.

1992- GAME "SQUASH". I created all the backgrounds.

1991- GAME "THUNDER HOOP". I realised the FX of the game, like explosions, special bullets...

 

EDUCATION

Qualified as a Comic Artist, Illustrator and Scriptwriter by Escuela de Comic JOSO.
Qualified as "AutoCad and Autodesk Architectural Desktop user: Map Interpreter 2D and 3D" in CIFO La Violeta.

All my knowledge about Playability in videogames, 3D modelling and texturing are the fruit of my own work and experience.
Graduated as Graphic and Cartoon Artist at the Escuela de Cómic JOSO (www-escolajoso.com)
